MARK DICKINSON as “CLARENCE” from RICHARD III
“O, I have passed a miserable night …” Meet Clarence, who is experiencing something unsurprisingly common right now …
Filmed in isolation & directed in real time via Zoom during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020
ABOUT THE PROJECT
“… a perfect gem, beautifully presented and so very relevant to our current times. Each actor unfolds their story, using Shakespeare’s original words, with such skill and talent. Kudos to Director, Sally McLean, and her entire team & ensemble. From heart-breaking to hilarious and so powerful. Highly recommended viewing. 10/10” – IMDB.com
Using Shakespeare’s original text and characters, we shine a light on the human experience in a COVID-19 world. Building on the success of the previous two seasons of the multi award-winning series, Shakespeare Republic (2015-2017), this new stand-alone season of the work turns the lens on Shakespeare’s characters in lock-down, featuring theatre actors from Australia and around the world.
Created, adapted and directed by Australian actor, Sally McLean, in direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the cast filming themselves in isolation, directed by Sally in real time via Zoom from Melbourne, we look through a myriad of windows from Australia, Scotland, England and the USA into the current shared experience of human beings in isolation.
Featuring actors with credits from Broadway, the West End, Shakespeare’s Globe London and mainstream Film & TV in Australia, the US & UK, both established and emerging, this is deliberately Shakespeare with a difference.
