The Telephone is a one-act opera, first performed in 1947, which asks how technology can force us apart as well as bringing us together.
This production, directed by Emma Jude Harris and starring Kirsty McLean and Jonathan Eyers, updates The Telephone to the present day: Lucy and Ben have been chatting during lockdown but haven’t yet met in person.
Find out which way this date will go as we bring you a new version of Gian Carlo Menotti’s comic opera, sung and streamed live.
Produced in collaboration with Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
