Production Description

The Broken Compass Monologues is a passion project. Each story you read and each character you meet is imbued with unmistakably human flaws, desires, fears and challenges.

The anthology of monologues is a prism of human experience. Each character is trying to navigate their way through the ever changing journey of life and the innumerable and unpredictable obstacles that life and ultimately death throw our way.

Whether it is the slow adjustment of a broken hearted lover, the confessions of a marred miner, the call to arms of a revolutionary mother or the stumbling eulogy of a daughter trying to find her feet after losing her father… each piece is an ode to the durability of the human spirit.

This play is simply an attempt to empathise with the impossible task many people face everyday… dealing with loss and change in a life where the aforementioned are rife and inescapable.

The broken Compass Monologues series 1 were recorded by our actors in their homes, with rehearsals being performed by our directors via Zoom during Lockdown. Find out more Double Trouble Theatre Co.
