A monologue in memory of Stephen Reynolds, as told by his partner, Harry Paynter, a young St Ives fisherman.
This is a work of fiction, by David Lloyd, imagining Stephen looking back.
Stephen Reynolds was a writer, who, for much of his life lived in Sidmouth, Devon, and worked in & around the fishing industry of the southwest. In 1914
he became the resident inspector of fisheries for the southwest region, bringing new ideas for revolutionising & maintianing the southwest fisheries.
His books include novels inspired by his life in Sidmouth, his most famous book being A Poor Man’s House.
Stephen Reynolds died of Spanish flu on February 14, 1919
