If you’re looking for something warm and gently uplifting, here it is: a behind the scenes look at the musical “Selah’s Song.” You’ll get a taste of the show’s sweet music and a chance to hear from its creators.
“Selah’s Song” is an original folk musical that was set to begin touring on April 15th across Ontario to British Columbia. Obviously, due to COVID-19 we have had to postpone this tour. Written by Theatre of the Beat co-founder Johnny Wideman with music by Bryan Moyer Suderman, the musical tells the story of a young girl whose courage inspired a village, and whose song became an anthem for peace.
Directed by Erin Brandenburg, designed by Kristy White with performances by Malia Rogers, Zach Parsons, Christina Leonard and Sara Jarvie-Clark, we decided to create a behind the scenes look at the show and showcase these performers until we can get back on the road and take it across Canada.
