“The Book of Sirens” monodrama performance in English

A performance of Art Shelter//ProEnglish Theatre from Kyiv, Ukraine

THE BOOK OF SIRENS staged in the bomb shelter//theatre of Kyiv during March 2022. It was premiered on Apr 09, 2022 Toured Spain in May (Bilbao, Aranjuez, Madrid, Alicante) and Germany in August (Berlin, Cologne, Hannover) “The Book of Sirens” is the official selection at Sele Teatro fest (Italy) and Prague Fringe (Czechia)

STORYLINE
– a story of a little German town of Molching being constantly bombed during World War II
– a story of a little girl Liesel who learnt to read in a bomb shelter
– a story that repeats based on the book of Markus Zusak “The Book Thief” as well as the books of Hector Abad Faciolince and an extract of his “Forgotten We Shall Be”

You will also hear: soviet radio announcements of WWII, live piano, soviet war songs, “Moonlight Serenade” tune and some sirens. A lot of sirens
