‘Not So Quiet on the Welsh Front’ was specially adapted during lockdown for the Reading Digital Fringe 2020. It is an adaptation of Natalie Wilcox’s ‘Lie Back and Think of America’ which was inspired by Noel Izon’s documentary, ‘Choc’late Soldiers from the USA’. It is a novelistic, funny, touching, radio play told from the point of view of a teddy bear belonging to an evacuee. It is about one English family’s life during WW2 and their personal encounter with the effects of segregation and the Visiting Forces Act. Will Sarah find the courage to let GI Joseph know her true self? And if she does, will he still want her? And will her little sister, Lucy, evacuated to Wales escape Mrs Allbright’s sharp tongue? Step back in time and listen to these fantastic actors doing what they do best.
