The play begins in a Camp at the end of WW2. Rather than dwell on the universal horrors, the play seeks to explore the psychological effects of the war on the survivor, Frida, the English soldier she marries, and their life back in post-war England. The third character is their daughter Dawn, who grows up kept in deliberate ignorance of her religious and cultural heritage. Dawn has to negotiate discovering who she is, and find a way to connect emotionally to her mother.
Special thanks also to Dr Sam Mitschke, for her advice on staging Holocaust-themed. theatre. And to Richard Lambert, of Lambco Productions.
