William Shakespeare’s much loved classic comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream performed live on Zoom & YouTube during the pandemic by The Show Must Go Online with an international cast.
The play is introduced by Grace Ioppolo @ProfShakespeare Grace is a Professor of Shakespearean and Early Modern Drama at the University of Reading, UK. She has done scholarly editions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Measure for Measure and King Lear. She digitised 2000 pages of records of Early Modern English theatre history at https://henslowe-alleyn.org.uk.
The Show Must Go Online was created by Rob Myles in less than a week in response to COVID-19. It brings together a global cast of all levels of experience to perform Shakespeare’s plays live and online every week in the order they were believed to have been written.
The team uses resourcefulness and ingenuity to bring Shakespeare’s work to life on Zoom, performing to a live audience on YouTube every Wednesday at 7pm BST.
